We are Unknown Talent Films 5 teens ages 14 to 15 as part of PCTV’s summer AVID program: Lech Lor, Abdullahi Mohamed, Mohammed Galow, Eddie Stone, Shane Hawkins. We make inspiring documentaries and narrative films that deal with real situations. We are 5 creative, outgoing, and energetic young filmmakers, working to create useful and truthful work. This summer we are creating 2 films about issues surrounding the Iraq war, and how it affects our community. Our narrative film is about a boy who tries to fulfill his dream to go to college. In order to do so he thinks about joining the army. He has a frightening dream that threatens to change his mind. Our documentary film deals with local veterans and their experience in the Iraq war, as well as the difficulties that they encountered when they got back home. We hope our documentary shows the real life affect of those who join the armed forces. The completed films will be shown at a free public screening on Friday, August 15th at 3:00pm. The screening will be at the downtown central library. The youth producers will be present at the screening for a Q & A session. Please contact PCTV at (612) 821-3938 with any questions.
